little scott things

+ it seems like I only have time to post these "little scott things".  I have a VERY limited amount of time at the computer nowadays.  Between mothering Ellison (who just turned 14 months old!!), taking care of Tucker (who's epilepsy is getting worse), cooking (see some delicious recipes below), and trying to nurse my knee back to health, I have very limited time for anything else :)  (with all that being said I am REALLY loving the stage of life we are in right now!!!)

+as I type this post, Ellison is napping in his CRIB!!!  This is huge.  His naps were getting worse and worse so this past weekend I started putting him in his crib for naps.  There was a few tears but he very quickly settled down and went to sleep.  I think he was getting to distracted when I tried laying down with him.  He just wanted to touch my ear and "talk" to me.  I am going to miss that though.

+I finally got Ellison a water table.  I really likes making big splashes and throwing the little people around.

+ On our menu this week we have...spaghetti and meatballs, chicken stuffed with herbed goat cheese and Israeli couscous with spinach/arugula, pine nuts, and currants, chicken salad, and for father's day dinner: coffee rubbed ribeye (use the rub sparingly since over using it will make the steak very spicy) with cornmeal onion rings and squash and asparagus. (all of the recipes I link to I follow loosely)

+Speaking of Father's Day...we had a great time celebrating yesterday.  We gave Andre his gifts at lunch and made sure we told him how much we appreciate everything he does for us.  I called my daddy early on Sunday since he is doing a mission trip this week.

+If you follow me on instagram then you have already seen this, but Ellison learned how to stack all of these rings!  Making mama proud since 2012!!!

+We move in 1 month and I have yet to pack a single box.  I need to start making that happen!  I did buy a refrigerator for our new house on Saturday!  I am so excited to have a really good one.  We have a less than stellar fridge now. I can not wait to use it in our new house!!! We also scheduled our punch list walk through appointment with the builder!!!

+ My little boy is growing up SO fast!  He even had ice cream for the first time...and it got all over his face :)

graduation season

My brother graduated from Clemson University with a masters degree in Construction Science in May.  I am so proud of him and know he is going to make one hell of a project manager!

Ellison LOVED watching his Uncle Evans walk across the stage.

Evans walked across the stage within the first 30 minutes of the ceremony so Ellison, my mom, and I headed outside to play a little while the other walked across the stage.  I can not get over how cute Ellison is in his purple bow tie and orange shorts.  I am pretty sure his is going to be a Clemson Tiger in about 17 years!

I love my family!!!

Ellison and his nonna

they really love each other

little scott things

+ I ran 3 times this past weekend.  The run on Friday was awesome...I felt great and ran all 3 miles at a 9 minute pace.  It was pouring down rain which made it even more fun! Then Saturday and Sunday's run were not so good.  My breath was all out of sorts and it was SO hot and humid.  I'm talking high 80's with 100% humidity.  After I was done running I was so happy that I pushed through.  Please tell me I'm not the only one that struggles more days than not :)

+Speaking of struggling...my knee has been giving me some trouble the last few days.  Andre told me that it is probably tendonitis.  I guess I should start icing it before it gets worse.

+ I made this great summer corn and couscous salad this past weekend.  It was SO good!  Perfect for dining outdoors under an umbrella and a cold glass of wine.

+ I also made some really good cookies.  I based them off of this recipe...but didn't add the caramel bites (just more chocolate chips) and baked them for about 15-1 minutes instead of 10 minutes.

+Ellison has moved up to a bigger class at daycare.  He is in the "toddler's" room now, which means that he has to take naps on mats now.  I was a little worried how that was going to go but his teachers say he is one of the easier ones.  I am so glad that his naps are getting more consistent...I can remember a time that he would only take catnaps at daycare.  Now he is taking two 1-2 hour naps!!!

5 on Friday.

I am linking up with one of my favorite mama's today, Natasha!

+ I started back running 3 weeks ago.  I run 3 days a week (Friday, Saturday, and Sunday).  I feel SO much better since I have started back running.  I have already noticed a change in my body and my mood and attitude have improved as well :) I have been known to make excuses to not run in my past but I am really trying to do better.  I ran 3 miles in the rain this morning.   It was such a great run and really fun running in the rain.  I have gotten faster and stronger in just 3 short weeks!

+ I can not believe we move in about 1 month.  We have decided to use a moving company to move everything but we are still packing everything ourselves.  I really need to start packing...I can start with the guest bedroom since we do not use it very much.

+ I took Ellison to pick strawberries.  I hope to do this every spring with him.  He wasn't too interested this year but loved taking the strawberries out of my bucket and throwing them on the ground.

+ I was on the Equestrian Team at Clemson during college.  I made some so many friends and I love getting together with them now.  It seems that anytime one of us gets married we have a CUET (Clemson University Equestrian Team) reunion.  This past weekend Nicole got married so Andre and I drove the Atlanta for the wedding and reception.  We had such a great time...it was also the first night I have ever spent away from Ellison.  He stayed at our house with my mama (they had a great time!) We had such a great time at the wedding and I just love seeing all of my college friends.

...and we had brunch the next morning at buttermilk kitchen in buckhead

+ Ellison is officially weaned.  He was so ready...me not so much.  We were down to 2 sessions a day....once in the morning and once before bed.  Now he just goes right to bed and wakes and eat pancakes each morning.  I am sort of sad this chapter is over in my life, but on the other hand I am so happy to watch the little boy Ellison is turning into.  He is such a sweet little boy and I love being his mama even when it is hard (weaning is hard)
