Ellison...13 months

You are sleeping and eating great this month. You nurse first thing in the morning and right before bed. You eat 3 full meals a day, which consist of a pack of baby food and some sort of real food. You still drink 4 seven ounce bottles of cow's milk a day (around 9,noon,3,and 6). As for sleeping, you go to bed around 8PM and wake around 6AM and take 2 naps a day.

You had a pesky ear infection basically this entire month. After 2 rounds of antibiotics and a shot of antibiotic we are hoping that it is gone. We have an appointment with the ENT in a week or so for a consult for tubes. I have heard only great things about your ENT, so I hope he does good for you. I am so ready for these ear infections to be a thing of the past. (so far you have at at least 8)

You went on your first plane ride this past month, and you were SO good. It was just me and you and we survived. 4 plane rides and no meltdowns (by either of us) so I consider that a win.

You have been my son for 13 wonderful months. Not a day goes by that I do not tell you how much I love you. I could tell you all day and it still would not describe the love I have for you, little boy. I am so happy that I get to be your mama!

We had a small gathering the day after Ellison’s first birthday at our house. The theme of Ellison’s first birthday party was loosely based on Eric Carle’s famous book “the Very Hungry Caterpillar”.

An update of sorts

I am sort of back from my almost month long hiatus. I did not plan to stay away from my blog this long, but something had to give. I was stressed and had WAY too much on my plate so blogging naturally took a backseat. So much has happened in this past month. Hopefully I can get caught up pretty quickly.

I have met my March, April, and May goals.

I have revised my June, September, and October goals. (post to come soon)

I saw my best friend and brother walk across the graduation stage.

Ellison celebrated his first birthday (and had a party), received his wings, and turned 13 months old.

We have sold our house and bought another.

So many things have happened and I can't wait to play catch up.

SLEEPING THROUGH THE NIGHT!

We did some sleep teaching this past month...so now you are sleeping through the night. I really never thought I would see the day. We start our nighttime routine (bath, lotion/massage, pajamas, story, and nurse) around 7:30PM and you are sleep in your crib 8:15PM! You sleep until around 6:00AM-6:30AM. You are still taking 2 naps a day (one in the morning and one in the afternoon)

We have found a few things that you really like: cherrios, pears, pizza, mac and cheese, sweet potato fries, and of course cremes. You still drink 4-7 ounce bottles, but now we are mixing a little whole milk in with your pumped breastmilk. You do not seem to mind the whole milk...soon you will be on all whole milk during the day. You are still nursing first thing in the morning and right before bed.

This past year has been one of the best of my life. Thank you for making me a mama...you are the best little boy a mama could want. I can not beleive it has been 365 days since you entered our lives. I can remember the contractions and all of the emotion of your birthday like it was yesterday. It was a truely magical day, your birthday. Your daddy told me that you were a little boy right after you were born and I was so happy and excited. Being a boy mom is amazing. I hope that I can teach you to be gentleman and always treat ladies with love and respect. I want you to grow up and be just like your daddy.

Ellison I love you so much and I hope you never forget that. Everything about you is perfect in my eyes. I want to wish you the happiest first birthday! I love you little buddy!

Before you were born I used to have all kinds of thoughts and dreams about what you would be like. You have surpassed all my greatest wishes. You are so beautiful in everyway. You are so funny and sweet. You make me laugh all the time. You coming into my life has made me happier than I have ever been.
Now that you are here I have all kinds of dreams about what your life will be like. I am sure you will surpass all my expectations for that to. I hope you are able to do all the things in life that you want to. I want you to know we will always be there to love and support you.
